The Smooch! Project

Who Do You Love?

A kiss is just a kiss. Except most of the time it isn’t. It can say everything: who you are and what you want, where you’ve been and where you’re going. That’s what Bonnie Fournier has found. Since 2006, the St. Paul photographer has been holding open shoots in public places. She calls it the Smooch! Project, and all she asks is that you turn up with someone, or something, you love—then give that person or pet a buss on the cheek. The photos have been displayed at health clinics and archived at thesmoochproject.com. Several thousand Minnesotans have done it. Here, a glimpse of who they are, and the stories contained in a kiss.
