After 10 years of working in the corporate jewelry industry, Anne Lenhardt Koebele realized she wanted to incorporate more of her personal values into her work.
“I was always seeking jewelry that I could connect with—something that was stylish yet purposeful,” the Minneapolis designer and entrepreneur says. So she created Hardt Jewelry to blend style with social consciousness.
The brand’s first collection, Equal Hardt, is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting acceptance of equal rights, with a portion of proceeds benefiting a local LGBTQ youth organization. The jewelry designs are laced in meaning: The Diverse Equal Ring and Unified Strength Statement Cuff incorporate equal signs and criss-crossed bars.
And the line has as much style as it does substance. The hand-cast pieces of brass—plated in sterling silver, 14-karat gold, black rhodium, and gunmetal—are the height of minimalist chic, with just enough unexpected accents (such as pyramid-shaped studs) to keep things interesting. • hardt-jewelry.com
