Opened in 1965 on Minneapolis' Nicollet Avenue, this restaurant has long been the only place to get a proper serving of tart German potato salad or sweet-sour dressed hasenpfeffer (rabbit stew). It's easy to get a sore neck, craning to see all of the beautifully painted murals, shields, and stained glass inside the room. Best to grab a giant beer and stay a while.
