They say every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, and that’s how we landed some of the best barbecue in Minnesota. When Sapor restaurant shut its doors, chef Noah Miller and head bartender Toph Heubach got a food truck dubbed Bark and the Bite, serving serious smoked meats, handcrafted sausages, and divine sauces. Now, after a year of garnering rave reviews at breweries and curbside lunch spots, their burnt ends, barbecue jackfruit, and crispy wings are also available for takeout inside Sunny’s Market, a convenience store in Northeast. The bark—that ebony-colored crust—and the bite—that kick of heat that smacks you back—are available Wed. and Thurs., 11 a.m.–8 p.m., and Fri. and Sat. until 10 p.m. • Sunny’s Market & Deli, 2207 University Ave. NE, Mpls., 612-789-5416, sunnysmarketanddeli.com; Bark and the Bite, 612-470-2275, barkandthebite.com
