Where to Eat in Woodbury

Jason and Joy dish on their favorite eateries in the southeast suburb

Restaurant recommendations from MnMo food critics Jason DeRusha and Joy Summers

Joy’s Picks:

I love an occasional shopping trip in Woodbury and because I can’t go anywhere without a snack, these are my two favorite stops.

Tamarack TapFor local beer, this is Woodbury’s best spot. Not only is the selection expansive, but the menu is stacked with pub favorites done well, including a massive soft pretzel and delicious wings.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Nothing Bundt CakesDriving by a little strip mall recently, a friend pointed and squealed the name of this bakery. It really is impossibly adorable and the bundts are available in a variety of sizes, depending on how many friends you’d like to share your good fortune with.

Jason’s Picks:

Chain restaurants reign in Woodbury, but there are locally owned, independent gems amidst the culs de sacs and the minivans if you know where to look.

Cravings Wine Bar & Grille: After nearly a decade in business, a recent change of ownership hasn’t caused Cravings to miss a beat. It has an excellent wine list with a large by-the-glass selection, plus frequent multi-course wine dinners.

Nadia Cakes: More than 160 varieties of cupcakes rotate in and out of the gleaming case at Nadia’s. They make cake pops and cannoli too, but that’s not what won the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. It’s the six-layer cheesecake cupcake topped with triple-berry compote and graham-cracker crumble!
