Hats Off to Boys and Girls
The 40th annual Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities Benefit Gala rustles up community support
What: Boys & Girls Clubs’ 40th Annual Benefit Gala, held October 30 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Cause: More than $400,000 was raised to support local Boys & Girls Club programs.
Seen and Heard: Nearly all 450 guests showed up in Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots to this year’s county-western themed benefit.
Song and Dance: Country-western group The Doo-Wah Riders entertained throughout the night. Chilren in the club programs performed dances, including one to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Going Once, Going Twice: Guests bid on an array of 700 silent auction items including murals that children from the club painted, as well as items in the live auction. Up for grabs: a trip to Napa Valley and a Target Field suite for a Minnesota Twins game.
