Winter in the Midwest is not an excuse to hibernate. Don’t curse the snow—make the most of it. In other words, start seeing the world through rose-colored goggles. Go skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, dogsledding, snowmobiling, or ice fishing. Check out a winter festival or parade. After an active day outside, warm up at a hotel or lodge (many with hot tubs and fireplaces) and enjoy a wonderful regional dish paired with a hot drink. Seize the deep freeze. Repeat after me: Winter in the Midwest is fun!
