If your prom wasn’t the magical night you imagined, try again now that you’re older (and maybe wiser?) at First Ave’s prom-themed dance party. Bust out your old dresses and tuxes and they’ll blare songs from the ’90s and ’00s that you somehow still know all the words to. Semi-formal wear is not required, but is encouraged. Soundset Starts Early

Photographer Dan Monick and Rhymesayers Entertainment are presenting a pop-up exhibition of behind-the-scenes photos from Rhymesayers’ 20th anniversary show and never-before-seen classic pictures from film found this year. The event will kick off Soundset weekend in the Twin Cities (see below for more info). The pop-up exhibition will be open from May 27-30. mplsart.com

Chicken-Fried Tunes

Zac Brown Band, known for twangy hits such as “Keep Me In Mind,” “Colder Weather,” and “Chicken Fried,” will make the city feel a little more country this Saturday at Target Field. Tickets are still available for the Minnesota leg of their  “Black Out The Sun Tour.” Drake White and the Big Fire will open. mlb.com

Dinosaurs Live On

WHAT: Dinosaurs at the Zoo

Music Festival Season Begins

Trouble Afoot?

Alice Childress’s 1955 play about racial stereotypes and prejudice within a theater production has been sweeping the Guthrie for the past few weeks. Called “by large measure the season’s best production” by the Star Tribune, be sure to see it before it leaves on June 5th. guthrietheater.org
