Description:

Founded by Earl Bakken, inventor of the first transistorized cardiac pacemaker, this hands-on museum explores electricity and magnetism through exhibits, 2,000 scientific instruments and a rare literature collection. Ongoing exhibits include Mysteries of Magnetism and Frankenstein's Laboratory. Housed in a 1920s Tudor mansion on Lake Bde Maka Ska's western shore. Grounds feature medicinal gardens. Admission: $10 adults (25-61), $8 seniors and teens (13-24), $5 children (5-12), ages 4 and younger and members free.
