A Coachella-style hip-hop festival called Soundset takes over Canterbury Park in Shakopee on May 30, co-presented by Rhymesayers, which means local heavies Atmosphere, P.O.S., and Brother Ali will join Method Man and Redman in the lineup.

Lakewood Chapel, an incredibly intricate Byzantine-style church inside Lakewood Cemetery in southwest Minneapolis, turns 100 with rare tours on May 30 and 31 every half hour from noon to 3 p.m.

About Tim

Tim Gihring is Minnesota Monthly’s senior writer and arts editor. He’s seen more plays than some people have seen reality, moonlights as a fine-art photographer, and loves that he made the latest volume of Best Food Writing without knowing a demi-glace from Demi Moore.
