Take a Bus Tour of the Twin Cities

When you’re visiting a new place, it’s fun to explore all on your own. But other times it’s nice to sit back and let a tour guide do the hard work while you relax and admire out the window. And, when the weather gets chilly, it’s an even better idea to hop aboard a motorcoach and take a comfortable (i.e. warm) ride around your destination.

The Twin Cities Highlights Tour by Award-Winning City Tours leads a three-hour, narrated trip around the must-sees of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Get a taste of history driving past Minnehaha Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge, enjoy the sights of our wonderful architecture like the Guthrie Theater, and catch a view of the big landmarks like the Capitol and the Spoonbridge & Cherry sculpture. The tour bus picks up guests every Saturday morning (through Nov. 19) at the Marriott City Center Hotel, Hilton Minneapolis, Hyatt Regency, and Mall of America. (If you’re arriving in December, don’t miss the very popular Holiday Lights Tour.)

Twin Cities Tours also offers van and bus tours for groups of one to 50 people. (The unique part is each tour is for your group only; no strangers.) Owner Doug Rosenquist is a lifelong Twin Cities resident and has guided thousands of people around the area. Enjoy a general tour of the area, or participate in one more specific to architecture, hidden treasures or Stillwater, and even one geared just for the kids.

For a tour of a different sort, try the St. Paul Gangster Tour. Explore the nightclubs and hangouts of famous gangsters like John Dillinger and Babyface Nelson who used to run around our capital city back in the day. From the comfort of a bus and the wisdom of a costumed guide, learn about kidnappings and gun battles that took place at local landmarks.

Twin Cities Highlights Tour Rates: Adults $35; Seniors (55+) $32; Students (13-21) $28; Children (6-12) $25
