You Could Really Use a Massage

Oh this in-between time of year, this Middlemarch with its on again/off again warmth. Just when the chill of winter starts to loosen its grip on your body, a week of rain and 40-degree days pulls you right back in. I suggest a little forced R & R to stimulate what spring should actually feel like: warm, soothing, and invigorating.

If Mexico isn't an option (or you've just returned, in which case I don't want to hear it), then consider scheduling a massage at pH Orem, a newish spa in the North Loop. Inside this gorgeous loft is total relaxation waiting to happen. Nothing about pH is too frilly or too crunchy—just sleek and sunny like an urban spa should be, with homey touches like hand-mixed teas and local treats. I love that pH uses Korres, one of my favorite organic, homeopathic skincare lines from Greece, and I'm mesmerized by the exotic essential oils that owner Paige Ferris incorporates into her treatments.

pH Orem is extending a special spring massage offer to Style File readers. Through March 31, receive $10 off any 65 minute massage or $20 off any 80 minute massage. Choose from Shiatsu, Stress Relief, and DeepTissue massage. You can book online right now at phorem.com.

The Beauty Room in Minneapolis is really one of the best places in the city for massage. And hey, it's 30 percent off this week and next for anyone who mentions the place's new Twitter feed!
