Okay, okay! Enough already. I finally went to Kohl's to check out Vera Wang's new collection. If we can call it that. Why the attitude, you ask? It started with this article in the NY Times. Specifically: "This is more about keeping my business going so I can continue to do what I love most." I appreciate Vera's honesty, that she's partnering with Kohl's for the money. Everyone needs it, and lots of designers do it. But it's a bitter pill for me to swallow when it comes to actually buying the stuff. September 17, 2007Red Carpet Rules
For all the books, magazines, and newspapers I devour, I'm really a t.v. junkie at heart. This mortifies my mother, who raised me on Reading Rainbow, and my father, who only watches cable (mine) when Notre Dame is playing. I got my fix watching the 59th annual Emmy Awards last night, which will keep me going until fall sweeps starts next week. For a list of winners, click here. While I wait, rather impatiently, for the next season of Project Runway to begin later this year, I am getting my Tim Gunn fix. His new show, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, premiered last week on Bravo. Just like Tim, the show is tasteful and chic. There's nothing extreme about the way he and sidekick Veronica Webb approach makeovers. The first participant would never have been selected for, say, What Not to Wear. But I don't watch for the transformations alone; I watch for the Tim Gunnisms.
