A Peek Behind the Scenes
Whew! This week has been a little bit crazy for me. Lots of photo shoots and fun people and great events, so I thought I'd give you a little peek behind the curtain.
The gorgeous celosia arrangement (top right) was put together by the totally amazing team at Bachman's for our Fall Trends Inside & Out event. (They're one of my favorite flowers.) Susie Bachman West and I teamed up to present inventive, trendy, and smart ideas for fall, from container gardens to holiday decorating. Susie gave us the download on all the cutest ways to decorate your doorstep and I brought the trend inside to the tabletop—plus there were snacks, drinks, and a special sale in the store. If you didn't make it down, don't despair: there will be more events, and the shop is stocked with gorgeouso fall décor—go check it out.
Yesterday, the always-charming Satchel at BlackBlue informed me that this should be my next maternity dress purchase. I can't argue. Navy blue with stripes, super comfy and yet pulled together? The man has a point.
I really can't get enough gold. It's a sickness. These gorgeous little gems from new North Loop shop The Foundry Home Goods are so chic—and priced right, ringing in around $30.
This romper-style dress is adorable, in of-the-moment orange. Perfect for frolicking about in tall boots in the leaves. Find it at Statement, among a zillion other pretty must-haves.
Loving this geometric jewelry from Askov Finlayson. I want at least one of each. Did you know they carry some women's clothing as well? Now you know, and knowing is half the battle, am I right?
On a more personal note, the floodgates have officially opened on the baby-shopping extravaganza. I've been trying to hold off, but I think the hormones have gotten the better of me. I couldn't resist this baby-pink Tea Collection layette set.
Amongst all the crazy scheduling this week, I somehow managed to get domestic in the kitchen as well. Roasted my first whole chicken (the husband rated it among my top five meals made ever—not bad for the first time out!) and then used the leftovers for a chicken pot pie.
