Elizabeth’s Pick: Meghan Elizabeth Pottery

Call me boring, but I think food looks best when served on white tableware. I don’t want some leafy pattern to take away from the soufflé I’ve just slaved over (or, let’s be honest: the charcuterie sampler I picked up at Trader Joe’s). I’m starting to rethink my stance after spotting these fantastic plates at W7 Collective. They’re part of Meghan Elizabeth Pottery’s St. Paul series, a graphic depiction of notable sites, including Mickey’s Diner and Landmark Center (pictured below). The contrasting black-and-white images makes these sturdy, imperfectly shaped plates look more like modern art than serving pieces—but that’s not going to stop me from topping them with hunks of cheese and calling it dinner.

From $28 at W7 Collective, 1032 W. 7th St., St. Paul

I love this series of Meghan's work. And she's super cool too boot. And I agree, the only thing that would make her plates better would be some awesome cheese on them!

My husband and I got married at the Landmark Center, would love to have that version! Beautiful work.
