Elizabeth’s Pick: Eat, Drink, and End Childhood Hunger

The new season of Top Chef starts on Wednesday, which is the equivalent to the baseball opener in my world. I’m like a sports fan watching these pros turn out fare on the fly and duking it out over sun choke puree (what is that, anyway?). The combination of competition and culinary genius never gets old. Which is why I’m pleased as punch about the Taste of the Nation HOTList event on June 24. Some of the Twin Cities top chefs and mixologists are donating their talents so that food and cocktail fanatics like us can gorge ourselves on the local dishes and drinks we love—all in one night, under one gorgeous Guthrie roof. But far more important than our greedy appetites is this: 100 percent of the proceeds will support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger by 2015.

What: Taste of the Nation HOTlist
When: Thursday, June 24, 6-11 p.m.
Where: Guthrie Theater
Tickets: $58 at http://www.tasteofthenation.org/minneapolis
