Healthy Treats and Superfoods

Healthy Treats and Superfoods

March is an interesting month: Spring is almost here, promising the return of garden fare. Some are sacrificing treats for Lenten season, while it's also March Madness, meaning lots of fried food in sports bars for basketball lovers. And if you just attended our Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience, there was no avoiding indulgence! So you may be on the hunt for some healthier options.

Today's cookbook giveaway is here to help, and two-fold: Superfoods from the Garden by Michael van Straten (grow it, cook it, and achieve the best health ever), plus SNOG: healthy treats cookbook by Pablo Uribe & Rob Baines.

The first will teach you how to eat better and boost your immunity by growing your own food, and the latter guides you to sweet treats that aren't so bad. It's really a win-win.

In honor of International Women's Day (and for a chance to receive both of these books), share with us below the woman you most admire!

Entries accepted until Monday, March 12 at 9 a.m. Winner selected at random and notified through email.

The woman I admire most is my mother. At 78 she still continues to raise the bar for her children. I would list her accomplishments but she would scold me for being boastful.LOL Let's just say that she is the "superfoods" to my personal garden. Thank you mom! xox

My maternal grandmother was my hero and I admired her so much. She was a woman ahead of her time. She lived to be 93 and lived independently well into her 80's. She believed a woman should be her own person and not live in the shadow of her husband. She modeled an intelligent, thoughtful, strong woman with an incredible sense of humor. She always told stories about what a wonderful mother she had. I can say that she left a legacy of strong women who are wonderful mothers. I know I think my mother is the best ever, so I can only hope that legacy will continue.
