Elizabeth’s Pick: Prairie Organic Vodka
I’m a semi-dirty martini kind of girl. I’ve always made/ordered mine with Ketel One vodka. It’s smooth and practically flavorless, which is what you want in a vodka. Then I tasted Prairie Organic Vodka from Phillips Distilling Company, a fifth-generation, locally owned business. Truth be told, I bought it for the gorgeous bottle. But the story is equally lovely: It’s made from corn grown in Minnesota, using an environmentally friendly process. More important, it’s one of the cleanest vodkas I’ve ever tasted. And one of the most spring-like ways to enjoy it is in this lemongrass tonic from Edina Grill. All this sweet, herbaceous cocktail needs is a deck.

Lemongrass Tonic
2 oz. Prairie Vodka
3/4 oz. limoncello
3/4 oz. lemon grass syrup (I like this recipe.)
Squeeze of lemon wedge
Lemongrass shoots
Directions: Shake ingredients. Strain into martini glass (or how about these?). Garnish with lemongrass shoots.
