THE GOOD DAY CAFÉ has opened next to the Metropolitan in Golden Valley (5410 Wayzata Blvd., 763-544-0205), the former home of My Pi and CocoLezzone. David and Rick Webb (the brothers behind those operations, as well as Ciao Bella, Zelo, and Bacio) have hired a super staff to cook up dynamite breakfasts and lunches—including a glazed doughnut pancake that is to die for.

Have you tried Crave, the newest restaurant in the Galleria (3510 W. 70th St., Edina, 952-697-6000)? Serving American fare and a full sushi menu, it’s sure to satisfy every craving.

Those who remember the Henry VIII burger and huge popovers served at the Normandy Inn & City Place Suites’ former restaurant will be thrilled to know that Michael Morse (owner of the now-closed Café Un Deux Trois) is putting them back on the menu at the Landmarc Grill, which he’s opening in the newly renovated hotel (405 S. Eighth St., Mpls., 612-370-1400).

Macy’s introduces The Frango Cookbook this month. It’s filled with all sorts of delicious ideas for baking with the cherished truffles: flourless chocolate cake, mint chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate cheesecake.

Stop by Sam’s Washington Avenue Wine Shop (218 Washington Ave. N., Mpls., 612-455-1045) on the first Wednesday of the month for incredible wine tastings. Owner Sam Haislet also offers many new and sale-priced wines.

Know someone with a case of the sniffles? Soile Anderson, owner of Deco Catering in Minneapolis, has packaged her special soups, including carrot ginger, butternut squash, and tomato basil, in beautiful picnic baskets to be delivered to a friend in need. To order, call 612-623-4477 or go to www.decocatering.com.
