Make a Date to Save a Life

Event: The Date for Life benefit for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund was held on Thursday, February 7, at the Graves, 601 Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.

Cause: Nearly $60,000 was raised to find a cure for childhood cancer by auctioning off the Twin Cities’ most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes. In five years, this event has raised more than $250,000 for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

Teen Star: Zach Sobiech, a Lakeland, Minnesota, teen-turned-famous face through his hit song, “Clouds,” performed for the 500 attendees. The 17-year-old was diagnosed with terminal cancer three years ago.

Available Bachelors: One date package raised $2,300 in the auction, and the bachelor for sale matched the bid for a total of $4,600.
