A Dating Delight

The Cities’ most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes come together for a cause

A Dating Delight

EVENT: Date for Life was held on February 13 at the Graves 601 Hotel.

REASON: The sixth annual event was held in honor of Katie Jurek, who lost her battle with bone cancer at age 20 after a five-year fight. Money raised at Date for Life benefits the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

WHO’S WHO: Twin Cities singles with a passion for fighting childhood cancer were the prizes in a date auction at the event, which raised more than $55,000.

GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE: The highest-earning bachelorette scored a date night bid of $6,000.
