Description

The Diastema Project: There is Much to Be Said About a Gap-Toothed Grin

Depending on where you call home, a space between your front teeth may be the sign of a lustful nature, good fortune or the highest form of beauty. Blessed with "the gift of the space," photographer Stephanie Morris decided to explore the topic after a routine visit to the dentist where she learned diastemas provoke strong opinions and that people of African descent are most likely to have diastemas. The exhibit is a result of her year-long journey to seek out others who have chosen to “rock the gap.”
