Chefs for Change with Chef Rick Kimmes of the Oceanaire Seafood Room

Event Date/Time

Oct 19, 2009
7:00 pm

Description

Chefs for Change is held approximately once a month in People Serving People's industrial kitchen. It is an intimate setting of 30-40 guests interested in a "chef’s table" experience followed by a five-course meal with wine pairings. It is a unique experience to share with friends or acquaintances, and an opportunity for restaurants to gain unique recognition and exposure. Chefs provide all of the food with wine pairings and recipes for guests to take home. Guests are to experience the unique flavor of the particular restaurant, as well as establish rapport with the chef and servers.

"Being involved in Chefs for Change is a great opportunity and one that provides meaningful return by sharing what I thoroughly enjoy – the creative preparation of food," says Rick Kimmes, Executive Chef of The Oceanaire Seafood Room. "When you see someone's eyes light up with amazement by the simple demonstration of what you take for granted, it's a pretty amazing feeling. I'm a chef but also a teacher at heart. If I can combine those factors with an event to benefit people in need, it's an honor." Join Chef Kimmes for a rare opportunity to learn the secrets of the Oceanaire Seafood Room.

All proceeds will go to People Serving People, the largest and most comprehensive family-focused shelter in Minnesota.
