When was the last time you really indulged? None of this oh-but-I-really-shouldn’t-have-a-second-glass nonsense. I’m talking about a real splurge. On yourself. Sure it might feel impractical, giventhese economic times. But if you were to treat yourself to something fabulous—and this is purely hypothetical—OPM would be the perfect place to do it. Owner Susan Sun, along with her fiancé, Isaac, has stocked this new women’s boutique with fashion-forward styles she couldn’t find anywhere else in the Twin Cities—like chic Catherine Malandrino dresses and edgy Mulberry belts (including the very grommet-encrusted version that cinched Sarah Jessica Parker’s waist in Sex and the City: The Movie). Fox-fur-collared coats, refined cashmere sweaters, and cropped leather jackets round out the luxe offerings. The couple wants OPM to be a friendly, no-pressure environment despite the high-stakes prices—and it is more fun to try on a $500 cocktail dress when the shopkeepers are laid-back and their dainty dog, Armani, is so lovable. Still not ready to take the plunge? Start small with a broken-in tee, or an enameled panther bracelet from Kenneth Jay Lane—both under $100.
