Quirky art, gifts, and home décor with a modern, botanical feel come to life in Bryn Mawr

Honeyshine is what I imagine the mind of decoupage master and home-décor designer John Derian would be like if it came to life in Minneapolis. The two-room shop is stuffed with Derian’s favorite components: vintage furnishings, art, entertaining pieces, and other ephemera. There may be decoupage.  

Owners Adam Braun and Daisy Mitchell have filled the shop with candles, coasters, bookends, pillows, paperweights, and perfumes. Whatever they are propped on—a church pew or a mid-century coffee table—is also for sale. Shoppers can walk in looking for a small gift and leave with a like-new Kartell table.

Honeyshine is easy on the eyes and radiates a go-ahead-poke-around atmosphere in which the perfect doo-dad is waiting to be found. For those at sea in creating that perfectly disheveled library look, take heart: they make house calls, shining up any abode.
