The Sotheby’s name is synonymous with class, luxury, and quality, much like the 263-year-old auction house. Now the Sotheby’s name is linked to yet another outstanding service—luxury residential real estate brokerage.

SKY Sotheby’s International Realty, an exclusive Sotheby’s affiliate, represents the area’s most distinctive properties and people in the Twin Cities and areas of southwest Florida.

SKY Sotheby’s International Realty leads the industry in service standards with creative custom marketing plans for clients homes, first in class service in locating lifestyle-loving homes for people looking to buy, and technology that enables associates to provide uncomparable service to their clients. Every SKY Sotheby’s property is ensured the highest visibility to the most qualified buyers in the world.

SKY Sotheby’s associates have powerful worldwide marketing opportunities, in addition to a relationship with an international brand that symbolizes refined elegance, impeccable customer service, and a highly personalized approach.

This highly personalized approach is evident in the Minneapolis SKY Sotheby’s team, selected for their top performance in the market (they rank in the top 10 percent of the local real estate industry) and incomparable white-glove service. In exchange for this commitment to excellence, associates are also owners in the company.

“The vision was simple: to fulfill a need within the luxury real estate marketplace,” explains Brandyn Herbold, who co-founded the company along with Chad Roffers. “World-class properties and clients simply deserve a world-class real estate firm representing them.”

Q & A

Q. How has your company changed since you first started?
A. In 2001, SKY Sotheby’s co-founders, CEO Brandyn Herbold and President Chad Roffers were both top-producing agents for the leading real estate brokerage in Southwest, Florida. Together they shared a passion for selling luxury real estate, consistently finishing in the top 10 percent in sales among all realtors in the Sarasota, Fla. market. Brandyn and Chad found an opportunity in luxury real estate and combined collective energies to create a company that would address those needs. The firm was launched in 2004. Seemingly overnight, Brandyn and Chad guided SKY Sotheby’s from being a successful local firm, predicated on a solid set of values, to a turbo-charged, globally-recognized powerhouse.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A. Brandyn will continue to lead SKY Sotheby’s growing Twin Cities presence, while Chad will continue to lead Southwest, Florida. Together they will seek opportunities to bring the industry-leading service and associate-owned to other markets.

Q. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment to date?
A. Following our instincts to create a brokerage that provides the highest levels of service to our clients, and our associate owners. Investing in our associates has been SKY Sotheby’s most distinctive difference because our people are happy, and that level of service and respect is also be felt by each of their clients. Another notable achievement is the listing of Dunrovin, a  $16.9 million estate on Lake Minnetonka as the most expensive and exclusive residential property for sale in Minnesota. Also, recruiting the top Realtors® in Minnesota in the areas of service and sales. To date, SKY Sotheby’s International Realty has attracted over 15 agents to the Minnesota office since October.
