It’s the resolution that echoes through time immemorial: I’m going to get in shape this year. I’m going to lose 10 pounds. I’m going to look amazing for my high-school reunion. Even though we reap numerous benefits from exercise and being fit—and you’ve probably heard them all, from lower blood pressure to greater productivity—routines can be really hard to stick with. So here are some fat-shredding, muscle-building, heart-pumping workouts that will give you visible results within a month of regular attendance. Spinning

It’s been said that an hour of pedaling a stationary bike as though your life depends upon it burns up to 800 calories in an hour. So if you want to drop poundage while quickly toning legs and glutes, spin. Funk

Dancing doesn’t seem like a workout until you swing your calves out of bed the morning after a night on the dance floor, right?
