The Heart & Stroke Gala goes masquerade to support the American Heart Association

Event: The Twin Cities Heart & Stroke Gala and Pulse After Party were held Saturday, November 2, at the Hilton in Minneapolis.

Reason: The annual event is sponsored by the American Heart Association and raises funds for cardiovascular and neurological research, as well as for local community health education initiatives to prevent cardiovascular disease. In the past 19 years, the event has raised more than $14 million.

All Dressed Up: 675 guests put on their black-tie finest and donned masks to match at this post-Halloween bash, raising more than $1 million for the AHA.

Going Once, Going Twice: The event included both live and silent auctions, with the highest-earning item being an Azamara cruise for two to escape the Minnesota chill this winter. The prize sold for $16,000.
