Event: The 22nd annual Children’s Star Gala, held Saturday, April 27, at the historic Milwaukee Road Depot in downtown Minneapolis.
Cause: More than $2.2 million was raised to support the Mother Baby Center, a partnership between Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and Abbott Northwestern Hospital. It offers comprehensive care for mothers and babies, from prenatal through pediatrics.
Entertainment: Guests were treated to a harp performance by 10-year-old Emily Jono and her dad. Emily was born at 28 weeks gestation and weighed less than two pounds.
True Story: The program included the story of Nick and Sara Windschitl, whose twin girls, Nora and Bryn, were born at just 27 weeks gestation and were treated at Children’s. The babies are now home, healthy, and happy.
