They travel by helicopter, sailboat, and Vespa. His sun-crinkled eyes shaded by Ray-Bans, her golden locks tucked beneath a silk kerchief. They toss back their heads in laughter and make fresh-squeezed lemonade by the sea. They are the face of Martin + Osa, a store named for a Kansas couple who explored Africa and the South Pacific in the 1920s. Their jet-setting plays out on movie screens throughout the new store at Mall of America, and their sporty-yet-sophisticated style defines its merchandise. American Eagle Outfitters created Martin + Osa for the post-collegiate shopper who is casual but ready (or required) to swap sweats for something more tailored, like chino sweats (flat-front khakis with a plush, drawstring waistband). Likewise, basic T-shirts and hoodies have been upgraded with cashmere, hip-huggers with higher-cut premium denim, and espadrilles with real jute soles. Just beyond the grown-up canvas travel bags and a mock game of croquet sits a complimentary bowlful of lemons. You’ll know what to do.
