The 21st annual Polo Classic ponies up for charity
The Cause: Proceeds benefited the Ronald McDonald House, the most recent of which is being built inside the Minneapolis campus of the Children’s Hospital. The Polo Classic event has raised more than $2 million in 20 years.
Wining and Dining: Spectators drank champagne and enjoyed lunch in the catered tents.
For the Kids: Besides a match featuring the Polo Club Youth, there were games, carriage and trolley rides, face painting, and—of course—pony rides.
Going Once, Going Twice: Live auction items included a Summit Brewery limo tour, a two-hour fall-color cruise on the Lady of the Lake, Southwest Airlines tickets, and clubhouse rental at the Wayzata Yacht Club.
Hats Off: A $20 donation was made to the Ronald McDonald house for every woman who modeled in the Elegant Hat Competition.
