Sue Z.'s Finds

Sue Z.'s Finds

If you didn’t find time to make your jams and jellies this past summer, don’t fret: Lucille’s Kitchen Garden (lucilleskitchengarden.com) has you covered. Zoie and Amy Glass of Lucille’s (named after their daughter) offer everything from a zesty garlic-pepper jam to the MN Mead jelly, made with honey wine from the local vineyard Winehaven.

More jellies and jams can be found on the loaded shelves of Crossroads Delicatessen (2795 Hedberg Dr., Minnetonka, 952-546-6595, crossroadsdelicatessen.com), where owners Kevin and Scott Hill use their grandmother’s recipes to craft the best preserves possible. Most every fruit combination is available, including my favorite: jalapeño-strawberry-rhubarb.

The Droolin’ Moose (9424 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, droolinmoose.com) is a new candy shop offering everything chocolate, from malted-milk balls to pretzel balls to chocolate-covered almonds. Yum!

Sue Zelickson is the founder and director of Women Who Really Cook and Perspectives Family Center’s Kids Cafe. She is the former host of WCCO Radio’s Food for Thought.
