Welcome to the 16th annual Minnesota Fringe Festival!

Minnesota Fringe Festival (in case you don’t know) is an annual eleven-day performing arts festival in Minneapolis-St. Paul. In 2009, we’re presenting over 160 different productions produced by companies from around the world. From family-friendly shows to spectacles you wouldn’t bring your mother to, we host an eclectic mix of performing arts—all presented in 60-minute blocks easy to navigate for both wizened theater veterans and the casually curious.

Having trouble deciding on a show? Try our show finder at fringefestival.org! From video previews to parking hints, our Web site has buckets of information to make it quick and fun to find your new favorite show. It’s the perfect way to plan your Fringe if you want to come to just one show—or fifty.

During the festival, log on to write your own show reviews, get last-minute schedule changes, see daily slide shows and more. We collect all the Fringe buzz from all over town—and all over the Internet—for easy decision-making.

Join the fun at Fringe Central

When Fringe is cooking, part of the experience is the community that springs up around the festival. Join your fellow audience members and our 400 volunteers and 1,100 participating artists at Fringe Central at Bedlam Theatre (1501 Sixth St. S, on Minneapolis’s West Bank) presented by Summit Brewing Co. This is your best chance all year to talk to strangers, Minnesota!

Fringe Central features great food (served until 2 a.m. every night of the festival), free parking, a Fringe concierge desk, refreshments and special events for anyone who wants to stop by. More information on page 7. See you there!

Accessibility

Minnesota Fringe strives to be accessible to everyone. We present a varied line-up of audio described and ASL-interpreted shows. All venues are accessible for those with mobility impairments. Minnesota Association of Community Theatres has a recorded schedule available at (612) 706-1456 ext. 4. Reservation fees are waived for patrons using ASL and AD services. Check out all our accessibility information, including AD and ASL schedules, at fringefestival.org/2009/access.

Contacting Fringe HQ

If you have questions—or if something wasn’t what you expected—drop us a line or give us a call. We guarantee we’ll always listen. At venues, you can find Fringe staff members (look for the stylin’ staff T-shirts). Email your comments, praise or grumbles to our executive director, Robin Gillette, at robin@fringefestival.org or give us a call at (612) 872-1212.
