This premier event of the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association recognizes individuals and corporations who have made an impact in the fight against heart disease and stroke, and raises important funds each year—its 16th!
October 16, 2010 – Minneapolis Convention Center
Event: Heart & Stroke Gala: Sweet 16.
Cause: More than $850,000 was raised from the gala’s silent and live auctions. Proceeds will fund heart disease and stroke research, as well as AHA public-awareness campaigns.
See and be Seen: 650 guests mingled at the Minneapolis Convention Center, while trying to outbid each other in the auctions for a sailing trip to Lake Superior and a weekend-leased Maserati.
Wining and Dining: Attendees dined on filet mignon and salmon. Local bakeries Cocoa & Fig, Buttercream, and SugarLoaf Cakery donated goodies for the silent auction.
Music: After dinner and stories from survivors, DJ Ruckus took the stage, spinning tunes until midnight.
