A Common Thread

The Textile Center’s annual exhibit showcases the intricate fiber-art talents of local artists.

When people hear the word “art,” images of paintings and sculptures often flood their minds. But as we know, the definition of art is always evolving to encompass new genres and ideas. Included in its description are textiles, and few places capture the essence of this artistic expression better than Minneapolis’s Textile Center. Each year, the center puts together an exhibition of its members’ work called “A Common Thread.” A demonstration of fiber-art techniques both traditional and innovative, the exhibit celebrates the talents of local artists and serves as a reminder that the world of art is constantly expanding.

“A Common Thread” runs January 14–February 26
Opening Reception: Friday, January 14, 6–8 p.m.
