Event: The Marcy Arts Partnership Gala was held Saturday, April 21, at The Soap Factory in Minneapolis.
Cause: The $45,000 raised at the gala will benefit Marcy Open School, a magnet school in Minneapolis’s Marcy-Holmes neighborhood that offers students in-depth, “art-infused learning” opportunities such as spoken word, Ghanaian drumming, and partnerships with the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, and Project Success.
Eat, Drink, Be Merry: Many local restaurants and beverage companies donated to the gala, including Haute Dish, Aster Café, Chowgirls, Joia Soda, Surly, and Harriet Brewing.
Going Once, Going Twice: The 500 guests bid on a variety of items in a live auction. One of the highest bids went toward oil painter Rod Massey’s “Utility Pole Pink Wall.”
