Ask an Architect on the Homes by Architects Tour

At this year’s Homes by Architects Tour, attendees have the opportunity to meet the architects who designed the featured homes and listen to the stories behind the projects. Face-to-face time with architects is just one thing that distinguishes this self-guided home tour from some of the other, similar events held throughout the year in the Twin Cities.

The architects who participate on this tour understand that’s an important perk for tour-goers, and look forward to having conversations about their design with the public. Mark Larson, AIA, of Rehkamp Larson Architects, has participated in multiple Homes by Architects Tours and says he knows what brings people in to these homes each year. “The Homes by Architects Tour gives tour-goers the chance to experience two days of private residences inside and out, talk to the people who made them happen, and be inspired by the amazing variety and creativity of Midwestern houses,” Larson explained. Many of this year’s architects have participated in past tours and look forward to being able to talk with others about design. For Michael Roehr, AIA, and Chris Schmitt, AIA, this year is their first experience. Their project, home #11, promises to be a popular stop and a great conversation-starter.

Join in the conversation yourself by attending this year’s tour. Tickets are available now for $15 (until 3 p.m. on September 19) at homesbyarchitects.org. They will also be available at each home on the tour during the weekend for $20 for a full ticket or $10 for an individual home.
