On April 27, at the Cedar Cultural Center, Lucy Michelle will release her first solo album, Attack of the Heart. It was recorded with some local rock royalty, namely Chan Poling and John Munson of the New Standards, but it doesn’t indicate a split with her longtime backing band, the Velvet Lapelles.
“Going solo wasn’t about breaking off,” she tells Minnesota Monthly in the April issue. “It was about working with different musicians.”
