An exciting twist is in store for this year’s Calhoun Square Celebrity Art Auction, showcasing pieces created specifically for the event by partnering local TV and radio personalities, dignitaries, sports figures, and celebrity authors in collaboration with artists who will be displaying during this year’s Uptown Art Fair. This is the second year of the auction, which will be held in the Suburban World Theater on Hennepin Avenue during the regular hours of the Uptown Art Fair. Bidding will take place in silent auction format on site and online at www.uptownminneapolis.com/art-fair. To honor this year’s theme, “Artitude in the City,†the event will also feature celebrities who represent and serve the great city of Minneapolis including a firefighter, bus driver, mail carrier, and police officer. All proceeds from the Calhoun Square Celebrity Art Auction will go to art programs within in the Minneapolis public school system that support art and creativity.
