Dear Expert: I am thinking of hiring an interior designer for my next project. When is the appropriate time to call?
A: You will get the best result if you can assemble your design team early on so everyone involved understands the concept, direction, and goals of the project. It is never too early to call a designer and start the discussions to find one that is a good fit and then define their role in the project. An interior designer’s role may be minimal initially and increase over the course of the project. One thing they can help with initially is reviewing space plans and ensuring furniture placement will support all of the functions you want for each room.
