Event: Allina Health’s Medicine Ball 2013, “Black Tie. Cape Optional,” was held on Saturday, October 12, at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.
Reason: The event raised $650,000 to support the Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s Emergency Department. The doctors and nurses in the emergency department care for 45,000 patients each year in need of urgent medical attention. Proceeds from the ball will help fund a renovation of the space.
The Agenda: 610 guests indulged in a night of dining and dancing, with late-night jazz music provided by singer and pianist Andrew Walesch and his trio, as well as a mind-bending performance by illusionist Reza.
In Honor: The event honored Jeffrey D. Peterson, the former president of Abbott Northwestern Hospital who passed away in March 2013.
