Event: The Children’s Hospital of Minnesota’s 20th Annual Thank God for Kids Gala, held at the Milwaukee Depot in Minneapolis, April 9.
Cause: The Cancer Kids Fund, a program provided by Children’s Hospital that helps children and their families cope with cancer and blood disorders.
See and be Seen: WCCO-TV’s Jason DeRusha and KARE 11’s Belinda Jensen emceed the night. More than 900 people attended.
Going Once, Going Twice: Of all the silent, live, and online auction items, a fly-in fishing trip to Canada received the highest bid at $30,000. A jewelry raffle was also held. The night ended up raising more than $1 million.
Sing Along: Former Children’s patients joined the MacPhail Community Youth Choir in the gala’s opening performance.
