Color & Design Trends Spring 2011

While color experts agree that attention-getting hues, over-sized prints, mosaic inspirations, and metallic finishes will appear in the bedroom, kitchen, and living room over the next few months, here are a few more home décor trends for Spring 2011:

Wild Hide
African inspired animal hides in zebra, cheetah, and leopard push the boundaries between the modish and boldly exotic. Adorn a monochromatic couch with a hide pillow, or highlight wood flooring with a faux giraffe ottoman.
Plum Pizzaz
Both warm and cool, plum is the perfect color for giving any room a sense of mystery, subdued spirituality, or a pop of excitement. Pair plum upholstery with deep hues of chocolate.
Equestrian Chic
Spotted in showrooms and living rooms across the country, the majestic stallion is being channeled in countless representations. Whether depicted in larger-than-life equine wall art, or the shapely bookend, the horse gallops back into the spotlight.

Rainbow Brights and BoHo
Handmade-fabrics and patchworks emphasize Bohemian style. Mixing a variety of global influences, this trend celebrates the abandon that comes with helter-skelter color.
