Event: The Talmud Torah of Minneapolis’s annual benefit was held Sunday, May 6, at Adath Jeshurun Synagogue in Minnetonka.
Cause: Money raised helps fund students’ education at Talmud Torah, a Jewish school founded in 1894 that serves grades 1-12 with a specialized curriculum focusing on study, worship, and acts of loving-kindness.
Going Once, Going Twice: 240 guests bid on auction items ranging from a Kindle to a year-long personal parking spot at the Sabes Jewish Community Center.
From Pupil to Producer: This year’s benefit honored one Talmud Torah alumnus in particular: interior designer and daytime TV host Nate Berkus. Berkus spoke at the event, discussing his career in design and TV, as well as his silver-screen ambitions. He was an executive producer of the 2011 movie The Help.
