12/1  Adoption Day

Benefit for Second Chance Animal Rescue. A nonprofit, all-volunteer animal rescue organization is holding an Animal Adoption Day with a variety of cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies available for adoption. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm or FeLV and FIV checked, and dewormed. Help give an animal a second chance. 10 a.m. Petco, 2575 N. 12/7  Stuff the Bus
Benefit for Twin Cities Children, organized by The Salvation Army. KS95’s on-air talent and The Salvation Army join together to collect donated toys for needy children’s Christmas gifts. All these toys are “stuffed” in a bus, which travels to various Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations to pick up toy donations. 12/10  Ordway Circle of Stars’ Austrian Holiday
Organized by Ordway Circle of Stars,uniting children with the world of art. Guests enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, as well as silent and live auctions, before attending the final dress rehearsal of The Sound of Music, followed by desserts with the cast. $250/person. Holiday attire. Ordway Circle of Stars supports projects and programs of Ordway Center for the Performing Arts through fundraising events and community education. Time TBD. Benefit for Cornerstone Advocacy Service. Each year Cornerstone sponsors a Santa Shop, a unique event stocked with gifts that children choose for their parents and siblings. Donations of new unwrapped gifts allow children from violent homes to experience the excitement and joy of giving. 12/15  Friends of Gillette 23rd Annual Benefit
Benefit for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, organized by Friends of Gillette. This event includes a silent auction, catered reception, and the featured presentation of “The Sound of Music.” Funds raised support Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and the services they provide each year to more than 19,000 children with disabilities and complex medical conditions. 8 p.m. Ordway Theatre, 345 Washington St., St. Paul. 651-229-1740; www.gillettechildrens.org.

TBD Baskets of Hope
Benefit for families facing hunger, organized by The Emergency Foodshelf Network. During the November and December holiday seasons, The Emergency Foodshelf Network provides holiday meal baskets to Twin Cities families. Each basket feeds a family of eight and can be provided for a small donation. Help us meet our goal to give away 5,000 baskets this year. Date and time TBD.
