Event: The Dawn of a Dream event took place Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the Depot in downtown Minneapolis.
Cause: More than 900 guests attended, raising $1.2 million to support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. The nonprofit supports research at the University of Minnesota that is related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of childhood cancers.
Two Stages, One Focus: Emcee T. Mychael Rambo led the everning’s program from one stage, while The Minneapolis All-Stars (featuring J.D. Steele) got the party started from the other stage.
Going Once, Going Twice: The highest bid during the live auction was of $26,000 for a total bathroom makeover. Next highest was a bid of $22,000 for a private jet to Lambeau Field when the Vikings take on the Packers.
