Coco Chanel once said that before you leave the house, you should take one thing off. But this fall’s accessories will make you want to pile them all on.

I would never really  look to the dictionary for fashion information, but in this case, Merriam-Webster really has it nailed: accessories are a set of articles that “add completeness, convenience, and/or attractiveness to one’s outfit.”  I would add that they’re the easiest way to jazz up a basic ensemble and, in some cases, the most cost-effective way to add trend to your wardrobe.
