Festive Fall Home Ideas

I’m not very savvy when it comes to home décor. Right now my house is mix of contemporary colors and finishes and brightly colored plastic kids’ toys. (It’s quite the look; give it a try!) I’m not even good at Pinterest. I started an account and then promptly neglected it. However, I do know good ideas when I see them, which is why when I saw the Bachman’s Ideas House on Kare 11 this week, I knew I wanted to learn more about it.

Bachman’s decorates its Ideas House seasonally (spring, fall, holiday) and each room—from the front porch and the sunroom to the bedrooms and bathrooms—offers up hundreds of tips and ideas for every level of decorator. Plus, it offers great ideas for low-key to high-end entertaining as well. With a vintage touch, the upper bathroom gives off a women’s boutique feel. The dining room mixes black and ivory with fall hues and bright green plants. The potting shed has even been turned into a man cave!

Not only can you get some great ideas for fall, but you can also get some of the one-of-a-kind items that are priced for sale. Just look for the blue dots on the tags and scoop them up. The Ideas House is open seven days a week through October 6.

Even better? The affordable $5 ticket not only includes a coupon for Bachman’s, but also 20 percent of the proceeds benefit Spark-Y, a non-profit organization that provides hands-on sustainability education to youth. Just go to the website to purchase; you can also purchase same-day tickets at the Lyndale location, but call ahead since tickets are limited.
