Event: The DesignWise Medical Art Auction and Fundraiser was held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
Cause: Some 150 people attended the fundraiser, contributing more than $18,000 for DesignWise Medical. The nonprofit develops pediatric medical devices used in the treatment of childhood diseases and conditions.
Food, fun, and more: Entertainment for the evening was provided by PJ Tracy, Minneapolis jazz pianist and award-winning songwriter. Food was provided by Edina’s Rice Paper restaurant and Minnetonka’s Pairings Food and Wine Market.
Going once, going twice: Proceeds were raised through a raffle, silent auction, photographic-print sale, as well as a surprise $3,000 match by a donor.
