Friday Find: Textured Wallpaper

Yes Yes, wallpaper is hard to remove. And put on. And to get perfect. But when it’s done right, and adds dimension and beauty and character to a room, it’s oh so good.

Welcome: Textured wallpaper. It’s been around for awhile, gracing the pages of our magazine and more, and is a great accent wall option for a modern home. It’s like a touch of vintage in a wardrobe—totally classy and appropriate when meshed with 2012 touches.

Lowes is one of many home improvement or design stores with a nice selection of specialty wallpaper. Most designs need to be ordered, but the samples give a great guide for what can be expected, and show numerous patterns in a variety of colors. Pictured here is the Cream Damask by allen + roth, found in-store. For awhile I considered paintable wallpaper, perfect for matching a rug or accent in the room, but decided to skip that extra step for my first attempt.

Reminder: Wallpapering can be really pesky and time-consuming. You may want to leave it to professionals!
